Part of Reach - one church in many places

Reach Response

Karina Martin introduces Reach Response

Reach Response is our Reach-wide ministry which enables Reach Communities and church members to come alongside people who are currently in need of extra care or support.

We strive to provide caring communities where people feel safe and empowered to rebuild their lives. We also partner with a number of trusted charity partners to help deliver the specialised support people may need.

In Derby, we partner with the following local organisations to come alongside people at their point of need and be a loving community for some of our city’s most vulnerable people.

Intercultural Churches UK dream of a generation of churches across the UK that will foreshadow God’s plan for a unified bride from every tribe, language, people and nation. They believe the church of the future will be an intercultural church as our cities become more and more diverse.

They equip those planting churches that will reach out to different ethnicities, bonding them together and building bridges with each other. They also assist those churches seeking to fully express the cultural diversity around them.

Storehouse isn’t just a food outlet for the most marginalised in our city, it is a source of companionship and a place where people can be supported and loved.

Every Thursday from 6pm, from Ozzy Road Baptist Church, up to 100 guests are provided with a hot meal lovingly served with a big dose of support and friendship. Derby City Mission is now overseeing the project with Reach Derby remaining as a prayer and financial partner.

Upbeat Communities was founded in response to the needs of refugees arriving in the UK and the stories they shared of their lives and their journeys. Through building relationships with those from refugee communities we were able to identify their needs and the best ways to respond.

We believe that one of the best resources a refugee can have to help them settle in their new home is a good social network. Friendships and connectedness can help overcome the many challenges faced by those seeking refuge.
